According to dictionary.com, twitter is "to talk lightly and rapidly, esp. of trivial matters; chatter" or "Slang A foolishly annoying person."

I think the business use of twitter is way overhyped, frankly much of it near-scam by those seeking to make a quick fad buck consulting to unsuspecting businesses. It is SOCIAL media and great for that - interesting and entertaining. It may one day grow up and acquire a business model, but for now it is just fun.

DISCOLSURE: I don't tweet, but I follow and read.

Twitter is the best proof that the human person is in dire need to be listened and be listened to - this is where most "online" marketing schemes are modeled from!

It's also super simple and doen't take much time to use. I think of it as ADD blogging. I'm hooked! @joshgordon

I would have to agree on this, although the limitations in twitter causes others to "twitter flood"!
