Sorry to disappoint content publishers, but the iPad was not developed for you! Douglas MacMillan recently reported in Business Week that the vast majority of software developers working on iPad products were working on video game apps. Mercedes Bunz writes in The Gaurdian that the iPad will be used mostly for web browsing. Before we find out...enjoy this funny video that puts all these speculations into perspective:

Kinda funny how this was being reacted to when it came out. Then POOF! There was game changing content being developed for it.
I read media almost exclusively on my iPad at this point. And as I said in another post, just take a look at what Wired and Popular Mechanics (or is it Science) is doing. Jeez - amazing stuff.
Glad to say that the iPad exceeded all the naysayers by a LONG shot!

The real gamer changer was the ASUS netbook 30 months ago and almost nobody wrote about it. It just became a success as there was a real demand for the netbook.
The iPod and iPhone had a social impact when showing off to your friends in public.
The iPad is meant to be used at home. No social impact. Impressing your friends will fail.
